Himalayan Institute of Technology was established in the year 2001 under the aegis of Himalayan Ecological & Literacy Programme Welfare Society. It is a private institute which is situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The institute has been affiliated with HNB Garhwal Central University & Sri Dev Suman Govt. University, Uttarakhand. The institute has been approved by UGC, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and also been recognised by the Government of Uttarakhand. Himalayan Institute of Technology is a reputed educational institution due to its strong academic atmosphere, large alumni network in over 200 businesses, excellent placements, engagement with industry, and numerous extracurricular activities. The Himalayan Institute of Technology courses are offered to interested candidates at the diploma, UG as well as PG levels. There are a total of 11 courses offered to students in the stream of science, commerce, computer applications, management and others. All the courses at the institute are offered in offline, regular mode to the students. The Himalayan Institute of Technology admission to all the courses is offered on the basis of the candidate's performance in the last qualifying exam. There are various entrance exams accepted by the institute for admission to MBA courses such as CAT, MAT, GMAT and GRE.
The Himalayan Institute of Technology campus is spread over an area of 5 acres and provides students with a variety of facilities, including a fully operational library, a canteen, a sports complex, laboratories, a gymnasium, banking services, and more. Himalayan Institute of Technology admission has started for all courses at the institute for the academic year 2024. Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for admission at HIT Dehradun. The basic eligibility criteria for Himalayan Institute of Technology admission to UG courses is that candidates must have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board. But the eligibility criteria for postgraduate courses admission is that the candidates must have a graduate degree in the relevant stream from a recognised university. Candidates have to fill out the Himalayan Institute of Technology application form available in online mode from the official website before the deadline to avoid rejection of admission application. Then, they must pay the HIT Dehradun application fees and submit the application form.
The HIT Dehradun application fee is Rs 750 which has to be paid while filling out the application form. Once the registration is completed, the authorities will conduct the selection process based on merit and personal interview. The minimum cutoff criteria for admission varies between 45 per cent to 50 per cent depending on the course curriculum. Candidates completing their registration before the last date of Himalayan Institute of Technology admission will be eligible for admission to their chosen course.

The HIT Dehradun alumni network is very strong and many students are currently working in leading organisations like ICICI Bank, TCS, Wipro, Bajaj, Coca-Cola, LG and more. As per the placement report, the HIT Dehradun average package is Rs 7 Lakhs per annum.
